Girl charged over Trinity Beach vehicle crash

Police have charged a 14-year-old girl in relation to a traffic crash at Trinity Beach on Saturday. The girl initially told police she was injured after being struck by an allegedly stolen vehicle which had lost control and crashed through a fence and shed. Police allege the girl was actually a passenger in the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash. The girl was charged with the unlawful use of the crashed vehicle as well as that of a second vehicle which was allegedly stolen from a Lake Street residence early on Friday morning. She will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992. Investigations are continuing.
