Girls charged over violent robbery, Cairns

Detectives from the Cairns Child Protection and Investigation Unit arrested and charged a 16-year-old Mooroobool girl on Friday with committing robbery with actual violence. The girl was allegedly involved in the robbery of a 21-year-old woman on Hoare Street at Manunda in the early hours of Sunday January 17 in company with other females. A 14-year-old girl was also interviewed in relation to the incident and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. The teenager has been remanded to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court on February 23.
