The Giryama people number about 672,000 and live on the coast of Kenya near the area of Mombasa, Kilifi and Malindi. Although Islam and Christianity have won some followers among the Giryama the majority of people continue to practice their traditional religion. Their worldview and traditional customs are dominated by their regard for the spirit world.
