Globe Water Feature
Category: Public Art
A spherical rotating water feature displaying tree, bell, bird and fish symbols which represent Glasgows motto and coat of arms.
The City's patron saint, St Mungo first introduced the motto "Let Glasgow Flourish" in one of his sermons and it is still widely used around the city today. These words are also inscribed on the sphere.
More information about the City's coat of arms and the background history of the motto can be found in the information accompanying the piece displayed at the entrance to the Royal Concert Hall at the top of Buchanan Street.
