Cairns Police are investigating the theft of a woman’s handbag that occurred at the intersection of Aplin and Abbott Streets, Cairns City at approximately 6.50 last night. The 81 year-old Cairns City woman was walking along Abbott Street when unknown offender/s snatched her purse from her right hand before running off. The woman suffered shock but was not physically injured.
