Located in Stickney, Illinois, just west of Chicago, Hawthorne Race Course first opened in 1891 and has been hosting horse racing events ever since, except from 1905 to 1922 when racing was banned in Chicago. The track features spring and fall thoroughbred racing and summer harness racing, as well as daily simulcasting. The facility holds up to 35,000.

Grandstand admission is free. Clubhouse seating offers reserved seats in the Clubhouse for a small fee. The Turf Club offers a buffet or plated luncheon and race viewing from inside or outdoor boxes. On most Saturday mornings, you can attend a free workshop where you'll learn more about racing and handicapping. The track offers a variety of dining options, from concession stands to fine dining.
