On July 16, 2000, a bronze plaque was dedicated to Helen Betty Osbourne at the former site of the Guy Hill Residential School, The Pas, Manitoba. Helen was an Indigenous woman who was murdered at the age of nineteen in 1971 by four white men who were not brought to justice until many years later.
