Built in 1946 as a dirt runway. In 1959 it was paved. In 1977 there was a 4000 ft. runway and a terminal. In 1980 500 ft. were added to make a total runway length of 4,500 ft.source: Mr. Charles Rohrman, current member of Hermiston airport board.
