High Pond Mountain
Category: Abandoned Ski Areas
**February 2008**
Trail Skiability: The same, only the snowcover really showed just how skiable that one maintained trail still is. Someone had hiked up the liftline and taken a few turns on it.
Lifts: No change. T-bar still sitting there all intact. Didn't test it to see if it still ran this time though.
Facilities: Same as last visit.
Accessibility: Same as last visit.
**October 2007**
Trail Skiability: Mostly grown in, although definitely still discernible. One seems still almost perfectly clear, almost to the point as if it was still being maintained by someone.
Lifts: The main T-bar still stands ENTIRELY intact. Still runs too apparently. I jokingly pushed the power button to see what would happen, and the lift motor actually started! A smaller ropetow shack still stands next to the main T-bar as well, but no towers or rope anywhere to be found.
Facilities: The small-ish "Alpine Restaurant" lodge still stands entirely intact, even inside it looks as if no one touched anything the day they closed up shop. Same goes for the "Lift Terminal" building, as well as the former ski patrol hut. Almost everything is as it was the day they closed. Pretty rare find for a lost ski area nowadays.
Accessibility: In a very beautiful but rural valley deep in the middle of nowhere. Have to take a few one lane dirt roads to get there, but its quite worth it just for the beauty of its location.
