High range drink driver

Mossman Police arrested a 51 year-old Manunda man after he was allegedly observed by Police to be driving erratically on the Captain Cook Highway near Mossman at around 7.00 last night. Police will allege that the man returned a breath alcohol reading of .226%.
The man was charged and released from custody only to be intercepted again at 11.30pm by Cairns Police driving the same vehicle on Airport Avenue at Cairns North. The man allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .145%. The man is facing a charge of driving whilst under the influence of liquor or a drug (UIL), driving whilst over the general alcohol limit and driving with a suspend driver’s licence. He is schedule to appear at the Cairns and Mossman Magistrates Courts.
