Painting in a realistic style, Joe’s paintings focus on west coast landscapes and local scenes. He is inspired by the natural beauty of BC and in his paintings he tries to provide the viewer with an opportunity to reflect on the reasons why many have chosen to call BC home. Working both in acrylics and watercolours, Joe’s paintings are rendered in a manner that has a calming effect on the viewer. “My statement,” he says, “ is to get people to appreciate what surrounds us in everyday life, be it a small vignette or a panoramic view, and do what we can to protect our environment.”
