The Killingly FFA chapter created book barns, with agriculturally related books, to loan to the libraries in the towns that make up the school district. Â The libraries saw a 40% increase in youth attendance over the months of May-August. Â 75% of the elementary students who attended the reading and activity sessions demonstrated greater agriculture literacy determined by a post-participation survey. FFA students visited the libraries monthly and held agriculture related activities, including reading sessions, dramatization of books, and student created activities that supplemented the books in the book barn.
