This is three attractions rolled into one: an historic site, a botanical site, and a recreational park. Rent a canoe at the park and paddle the Estero River. If you're very energetic, you can paddle out to Mound Key Archaeological State Park, but you'd be wise to rent a kayak from Estero River Outfitters across the street from the park. Tour the exotic gardens; many of the plants came from Thomas Edison's estate in Fort Myers.
