Category: Skinny Dipping
GPS GeoCoords: 47.400797N, 121.340400W
Directions: Take the Hyak exit off I-90, and drive on the little two lane road the parallels I-90 on the north side. This forest road will take you to the up the side of the mountain toward the Lake Lillian Trailhead. After it turns into a single lane gravel road and curves around a couple times, you will see a sign for the official Trailhead point to the right at a Y-intersection. Take the Left road that is smaller and cramped by bushes. This will take you to the unofficial trailhead. Stay to the right and park at the large gravel area just before heading crossing the stream.
The trail will become obvious once you head north from the gravel parking area. This is the 'backdoor' route up to Lake Lillian (and a smaller Lake Laura just below it). The hike is short (0.8 mile) but very steep in places. Lots of waterfalls. The trail is a great nude hiking opportunity.
The far side of the lake has the best areas for skinny-dipping once you negotiate the huge boulders in the way (wear good gripping shoes). Then around the right side of the lake. Note: a brief but tricky rock trail on both sides of the shore where the trail hits the lake. But if you are careful in climbing, you can go in either direction.
A nice side hike (nude also) is up the escarpment at the northeast side of the lake (there is a goat trail there). Once on top you can look out over the Ramparts of the Cascades.
