It is home to the College of Law of University of São Paulo USP), the only one far from the university's campus - 20 kilometers, which did not change place due to a request made by the students. Important and famous people who are part of our history either graduated or studied there.

Due to its architecture, in the form of arches, it is also called "Arcadas".
