Lockett Hall

The Building is named after John Leon Lockett. He studied at Iowa State University, earning his Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees. He also studied at Rutgers University under the Nobel prize winner and discovered of strepomycin, Dr. Salem A. Waksman. He received his doctoral degree in 1937.
In 1928 he accepted the position of Director of the Division of Agriculture at Virginia Normal and Industrial Institute.
