FFA Living to Serve Communities: 2009-2011

The Long Valley FFA developed and implemented phase one of a multi-year, multi-stage project to restore the local Historical Corral into a functioning part of the community again. Phase I addressed functional landscaping of the corral with Phase II will expand the functions of the corral for community and tourist use.   The corral played a very important part in the history of Long Valley Agriculture history as a holding spot for cattle drives that moved south across Utah into Arizona.  The corral is on BLM land which means it is federal property that is overseen by the Bureau of Land management.  This project is not only be a project of the FFA chapter, but is also be integrated into all of the agriculture classes offered at Valley High School.
