The mission of the Longyear Museum is to advance the understanding of the life and work of Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer, founder, and leader of Christian Science. Conveniently located just outside Boston and easily accessible by public transportation, offers exhibits, publications, and programs on the life of one of America's most noted women, Mary Baker Eddy. Mrs. Eddy discovered Christian Science in 1866 and spent over 40 years making her discovery known through healing, writing, and teaching. Mary Baker Eddy's major work on Christian Science is Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

The exhibit "Mary Baker Eddy: A Spiritual Journey" traces the major events of Mrs. Eddy's life, from her girlhood in rural New Hampshire to her founding of the Church of Christ, Scientist. Her remarkable life history - a story of courage and triumph against tremendous odds - engages interest and respect, regardless of one's religious background.
