Low-Relief Panels, Old Rutherglen Road & Errol Street,
By Jules Goss
These bas-relief panels are fitted under the windows of a new housing block near Crown Street. They were made between 1994 and 1995 by sculptor Jules Goss, and are made of Glass Reinforced Plastic. This is a cheaper and lighter alternative to using bronze. The panels depict elements of the history of the Gorbals, and also the spirit of regeneration which is now transforming the area. Central to the panels is the River Clyde, with its many bridges and the memory of it's industrial past.
