A 33 year-old Edge Hill man was charged yesterday morning after he allegedly ran over and destroyed a parking meter on Grafton Street. Information led police to the man’s residence where he was arrested and charged with driving over the general alcohol limit and failing to fulfill duties at the scene of a crash. Police will allege that the man had a breath alcohol concentration of 0.130%; he is due to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 27.
