Man arrested following traffic crash, Wangetti

A 20-year-old Mossman man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this month after crashing a vehicle on the Captain Cook Highway near Wangetti on Friday night. It is alleged the man stole the Nissan utility from an Alchera Drive residence at Mossman at about 9.30pm before proceeding towards Cairns where he crashed the vehicle near the Rex Lookout. The man allegedly fled on foot and was later located by the Cairns Dog Squad. He was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.
