Man arrested over bus driver assault, Clifton Beach

Smithfield detectives yesterday charged a 28-year-old Paramatta Park man as a direct result of information received from Crime Stoppers. It is alleged the man assaulted a bus driver and attempted to steal money after he was asked to get off the bus for allegedly consuming alcohol at Clifton Beach on Saturday night. The man was charged with attempted robbery with violence and is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on June 18.
