Man arrested over Cairns CBD disturbance

Police were called to a disturbance involving two men near the intersection of Shields Street and the Esplanade early on Sunday morning. A 20-year-old Manoora man was arrested after Police observed a knife in his possession. No one was injured as a result of the incident and the man was charged with creating a public nuisance as well as unlawful possession of a knife in public. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 1.
