A 42-year-old Smithfield man was charged with wilful damage and committing a public nuisance offence following an incident at a Faculty Close business premise on Monday afternoon. It is alleged that shortly after 2pm the man threw a gas cylinder at the glass window of a business, causing it to shatter. The man was taken into custody a short time later and charged over the incident. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on June 9. QP1100450536
