Man arrested over damage to taxi, Whiterock

A 17-year-old Kuranda man was arrested and charged on Saturday morning following an incident on Progress Road where he allegedly damaged a taxi cab. It is alleged that the man was a passenger in the cab and became involved in an altercation with the driver before demanding the driver stop the cab. The man allegedly got out of the cab and then punched the windscreen causing it to shatter. He was located a short distance away by a Police patrol and taken into custody. He was charged with wilful damage and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 3.
