A 41-year-old man has been charged following a disturbance at Edmonton on Friday. Around 1.30pm, police were called to an address near the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Mill Road following reports of a disturbance. It is alleged two men had become involved in a dispute, with one man producing a machete type implement and the other fleeing on foot. Police subsequently intercepted a vehicle near the incident scene and located the alleged offender. The man was charged with unlawful possession of a knife in public place and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 23.
