Police arrested and charged a 21-year-old German national yesterday after an investigation into a number of thefts at a Lake Street backpacker hostel. He was charged with five counts of stealing as well as possession of tainted property in relation to the offences which were allegedly committed over a period of more than two months. The man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 25.
