Detectives have charged a 19-year-old North Cairns man with grievous bodily harm after an incident at a McLeod Street unit on Tuesday January 12. It is alleged the 20-year-old victim was punched during an altercation at the front door of the unit. The victim suffered a fractured jaw as a result of the assault. The man was also charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of an implement. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 16.
