Police were called to a disturbance at a Sandown Close unit on Monday morning. It is alleged that a 45-year-old woman sustained an injury to the neck during an incident at the unit at about 2am. She was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Detectives charged a 50-year-old man with unlawful wounding as a result. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today.
