Police were called to a disturbance in Shields Street at about 1.45 this morning. It is alleged that a 25-year-old North Cairns man was assaulted after being asked for money and cigarettes. He was allegedly knocked unconscious as a result of the incident. A 21-year-old Mooroobool man was taken into custody and is assisting with inquiries in relation to the matter.
