Man assaulted, Manunda

Cairns police are investigating an alleged early morning assault which occurred at Manunda today. Around 12.40am a 63 year-old man was allegedly assaulted after he disturbed a number of youths outside an English Street residence. The man sustained head injuries after allegedly being hit with a bottle, whilst several windows and a door of the residence were allegedly damaged by rocks and kicks. The man was treated for a laceration to the forehead and did not require hospitalisation, while a 63 year-old woman was treated for shock. A number of youths are currently assisting police with their investigations.
