Police have charged a 37-year-old man after he allegedly abused Surf Life Savers and members of the public around 4pm at a Palm Cove beach on April 17. The man was allegedly behaving aggressively causing families to leave the beach area when police were called. The man struggled with police and attempted to flee into the water during his arrest. With the assistance of members of the public, police arrested the man who was charged with committing a public nuisance and obstructing police. The man is due to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 4.
