A 37-year-old Whiterock man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 10 following an incident in Lake Street on Friday night. It is alleged the man was being arrested in relation to another matter when he seriously assaulted the arresting officer. The man was taken into custody and charged with committing a public nuisance; obstructing police and serious assault.
