Man charged over fraud offences, Cairns

Detectives have charged a 42-year-old Gordonvale man with three counts of fraud after he allegedly dishonestly obtained over $10,000 worth of electrical goods from a Manunda electrical retailer in February. Cairns Property Crime Squad detectives executed a search warrant at a Lucas Street residence yesterday and recovered whitegoods and audio visual equipment. Detectives also recovered a generator from a local pawn broker which is alleged to have been fraudulently obtained and disposed of by the man. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 23.
