A 32-year-old Manoora man is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 11 to face a number of charges arising from a disturbance in the Cairns CBD on Thursday night. Police were called to a disturbance outside a McLeod Street hotel at about 7.15pm and the man was arrested. It is alleged the man then damaged a window of the police vehicle and kicked a female officer in the chest area. He was charged with committing a public nuisance, willful damage and assaulting police. The officer was not injured as a result of the incident and was able to continue duty.
