Man charged over taxi driver assault, Wrights Creek

A 44-year-old Edmonton man has been charged after he allegedly pushed a taxi driver from his vehicle and sat in the driver’s seat following a verbal argument with the driver at Davis Road around 12.40 Sunday morning. The man was arrested at the scene after the driver activated his duress alarm. He was charged with being in charge of a vehicle under the influence of liquor or a drug. The man is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court July 16
