Police have charged a 22-year-old Woree man with grievous bodily harm following an investigation into an alleged assault which occurred in Cairns on May 26. It is alleged that two men were arguing near the intersection of Spence and Aumuller streets when one of the men struck the other man in the face with a helmet. A 21-year-old local man sustained a broken jaw and a 22-year-old man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 31.
