A 67-year-old Redlynch man was knocked unconscious outside a Redlynch convenience store yesterday morning by a fleeing thief. The man was entering the front door of the Intake Road business around 9am, at the same time a male offender was running from the store with stolen bread and cigarettes. Police believe the man was struck by the outward opening front door and fell to the footpath, striking the back of his head and losing consciousness. The thief was last seen running into Daphne Street. He is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance and aged between 18 and 25 years. Police investigations are continuing.
