Man injured while riding a motorised scooter, Manunda

A 51-year-old Parramatta Park man suffered a serious leg wound after an unknown object was thrown at him while riding his motorised scooter around 12.40 this morning. The man was driving on Pease Street at Manunda when he was struck in the leg by an unknown object. The man pulled over to inspect the injury and observed a large bleeding laceration to his leg. The man recalls seeing a group of persons on his left prior to the incident. The man was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery to his wound.
