BREAKING NEWS: A man has been stabbed in the arm with a pair of scissors after trying to break up a fight between two lovers in Cairns this morning.
The 38-year-old stepped in to a domestic dispute between his 23-year-old niece and her 21-year-old boyfriend at Pease St, Manoora.
Paramedics treated the man and transported him to Cairns Base Hospital for further observation.
Cairns police say called about 5am.
The couple is assisting police with their inquiries this morning.
Investigations are continuing.
