Review: Excellent location, beautiful building, "...it is one of the country's three remaining theatres designed in the Art Deco Mayan Revival style." à la Detroit's magnificent Guardian Building, wonderful concession stand, great films, a must-visit if you are in the Denver area. Great venue for independent film near the heart of Downtown Denver. The Mayan is a restored Art Deco Mayan Revivalist building completed in 1930. It was saved from the wrecking ball in the mid 1980s.
