McNary Dam

The McNary Dam was dedicated by Eisenhower in 1954. The dam allows trade ships to navigate the river without going through the falls which used to be here. The dam brought more people to the Hermiston area. It generates a lot of electricity. It helps with flood control and made lake Wallula which helps with irrigation.
