Methuen/Merrmiack Valley Ski Area
Category: Abandoned Ski Areas
**March 2009**
Trail Skiability: Typical growth of a ski area that closed during the 1980s. Definitely lots of new growth, but you could tell that something USED to be here. It's probably skiable, but you'd REALLY have to be careful and pick your way down slowly.
Lifts: Both T-bars have since been removed, but most of the remains of a smaller ropetow still exist.
Facilities: Only the concrete base pad for the lodge remains, the victim of fire, but it looks as if it was pretty good sized for a smaller ski area.
Accessibility: On conservation land, and hiking trails exist on and around the former ski trails. Former ski area parking lot still used by hikers, but it was still gated for the winter at this point. Had to park in front of it (with not much room to spare from the road). Only took a few quick photos from the very base while there.
