On the highway to the Craters of the Moon. Springs are located on public land but the pool is on private property owned by the Milford family, hence the name. The owners supposedly do not mind if the public uses the springs.
The pool, encased in chunky black lava rock with a gravel bottom, is 12 feet across and more than 4 feet deep at the near end where plywood forms a crude deck. Temps have been reported around 111F by some and barely warm by others. There is a lot of partying that goes on at these hot springs with reports that these springs are the most littered ever seen.
The pool is close to the often busy highway beyond a low ridge but not visible unless you should stand up. Nudity is the norm.
