The start/finish of the course is on the grounds of Norges Idrettshøyskole (sports college) near Lake Sognsvann. Most of the course is on even dirt roads; a short portion follows a narrow path. The course has a tough profile, but takes place in a scenic environment, away from the urban concrete.
