On October 9, 2006 announced their first successful nuclear test. On March 12, 1993 they withdrew from the Non Proliferation Treaty and at that time they had enough enriched uranium to make at least ten bombs. North Korea is one of the 3 of 44 nations that has not signed nor ratified the Test Ban Treaty. The exact size of the arsenal is unknown. However, they are trying to reach the amounts the U.S. has.
