Live samba music.A gritty, underground, live-samba joint of concrete and brick where dancing is the modus operandi. Shows start late in the evening and end late in the morning; on weekends, the party gets hot in the late afternoon. Bands play right in front of the tables, and a makeshift dancing area right between the tables and band becomes an electrified moving flurry of well-shaped hips and sandaled feet as the night wears on. Tourists stand around gawking at the prowess and eventually give into the power of the generously poured drinks, which act as adequate lubricant for those with stiff joints.
