Oakhill House used to be an off-licence for the Oakhill Brewery, taken over by Bristol United Breweries, which was part of Courages. Joseph Holbrook lived in Oakhill House and, in 1901, was described as a cattle dealer and beer retailer. He was still operating as a beer retailer in 1935. The off-licence closed during WW2.
