Orchestra Hall

Orchestra Hall has been the home of the Minnesota Orchestra since its construction in 1974. Actually, Orchestra Hall consists of two buildings: a rectangular-shaped auditorium, and a glass and steel supporting structure (housing the lobby and administrative offices) that is separated from the auditorium by a one-inch gap to free the concert hall from any outside sound. Peavey Plaza, with its elegant fountains, waterfalls and reflecting pool, is located between the building and Nicollet Mall, is a popular gathering spot, and the site of outdoor concerts in the summer.
