After getting onto the #12, follow the signs to Otani, and you`ll find a great place to get pottery. Their work is quite good, and you usually can get them to take you for a tour of the grounds. You can see their huge wood-fire-heated kilns, smaller kilns, tossing rooms, sifting rooms and pretty much everything else. If you go there on a Saturday afternoon, there may even be an English-speaking PhD student there who can help a bit. The prices are sometimes a bit takai, but the workmanship is amazing. This is a great addition to any `tour of Tokushima` that you take visitors on.
